Dr. Gregory P. Temas

Dr. Gregory P. Temas is the founder of Temas Eye Center. He received his medical training at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, and completed a residency in ophthalmology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Temas lectures to various organizations locally and across the country. He is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. Dr. Temas is a Gold Surgeon with LaserVision Centers (LVCI) and has been ranked one of their top 100 surgeons since 2001.
Dr. Temas, a resident of Winston-Salem since 1991, is well known for introducing advanced procedures, such as: no-needle-no-stitch cataract surgery, foldable lens implants, radial keratotomy, laser refractive surgery (LASIK), Intacs Rings and Implantable Contact Lenses (ICL's) to our area. He is the first and only surgeon in the area certified to implant both the Verisyse and Visian ICL's, and the ReSTOR and ReZoom Multifocal Implants. Dr. Temas' mission is to provide patients the highest quality and most personalized care available through extensive training, and a commitment to continuing education.
Dr. Temas is the Medical Director of Temas Eye Center, and is on staff at these area hospitals: Forsyth Memorial Hospital, Medical Park Hospital, Hawthorne Surgical Center, Hoots Memorial Hospital in Yadkinville and JR Jones Medical Center in King.
Dr. Temas performs the most advanced cataract and refractive surgeries in the country. Don't have eye surgery without a second opinion from Dr. Temas.
Dr. Jennifer Flaherty

Dr. Jennifer Flaherty is an optometrist who is Board Certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. She earned her doctorate in optometry at the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1994. She was certified by the North Carolina Board of Optometry in 1998. She first worked with Dr. Temas at Temas Eye Center in 1999.
Dr. Flaherty is pleased to provide services in primary eye care, tear quality disorder (dry eyes), post surgical management, glaucoma, allergy eye care, diabetic eye exams, ocular injury and infection.
Dr. Flaherty is a member of professional associations including the American Optometric Association and the Triad Optometric Society.
Dr. Larry Jenkins
Dr. Jenkins
Dr. Larry Jenkins is a part-time general ophthalmologist at Temas Eye Center. Dr. Jenkins is originally from Knoxville Tennessee but has been in practice in Albemarle North Carolina since 1972. Dr. Jenkins went to medical school at the University of Tennessee, and did his residency at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Jenkins specifically sees general ophthalmology cases including routine and diabetic eye exams, as well as glaucoma and eye injuries.
Dr. Joseph Rini
Dr. Rini
Dr. Rini, who was born and raised in New York City and is excited to experience North Carolina's southern culture and warmer climate. He is a graduate of Hofstra University, and attended Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Rini completed his residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. At Temas Eye Center Dr. Rini will be performing cataract and eyelid surgeries, as well as glaucoma, diabetic and routine eye exams. He will also handle emergent eye care and eye injuries.
