Dr. Gregory P. Temas is the founder of Temas Eye Center. He received his undergraduate degree from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, his medical training at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, and completed a residency in ophthalmology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.  Dr. Temas is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the National Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Temas, a resident of Winston-Salem since 1991, is well known for introducing advanced procedures, such as: no-needle-no-stitch cataract surgery, foldable lens implants, Multifocal and Astigmatism correcting (Toric) lens implants,  radial  and astigmatic keratotomy, laser refractive surgery (PRK and LASIK), Intacs Rings and Implantable Contact Lenses (ICL's) to our area.  He is the first and only surgeon in the Triad area certified to implant both the Verisyse and Visian ICL's, and the ReSTOR, ReZoom and Technis Multifocal Implants. Dr. Temas' mission is to provide patients the highest quality and most personalized care available through extensive training, and a commitment to continuing education.

Dr. Temas is a Gold Surgeon with LaserVision Centers (LVCI) and has been ranked one of their top 100 surgeons since 2001. He received the Top 10 Surgeons in the U.S. Award in 2009 from Sightpath Medical, one of the nations largest cataract surgery service providers.

Dr. Temas is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the North Carolina Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and the North Carolina Medical Society.  Dr. Temas lectures to various organizations locally and across the country.

Dr. Temas is the Medical Director of Temas Eye Center, and is on staff at these area hospitals: Forsyth Memorial Hospital, Medical Park Hospital, Hawthorne Surgical Center, Davie Hospital in Mocksville, Hoots Memorial Hospital in Yadkinville, JR Jones Medical Center in King, Northern Surry Hospital in Mt. Airy and AmSurg Surgical Center in Greensboro.

Dr. Temas performs the most advanced cataract and refractive procedures in the area. Don't have eye surgery without a second opinion from Dr. Temas.

Dr. Jennifer Flaherty

Dr. Jennifer Flaherty is an optometrist who is Board Certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. She earned her doctorate in optometry at the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1994. While in Houston, she completed diagnostic and therapeutic testing with the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. She practiced in Texas and Illinois before settling in North Carolina. She was licensed by the North Carolina State Board of Examiners Optometry, in 1998.

Dr. Flaherty is pleased to provide services in primary eye care, including: tear quality disorders (dry eyes), cataract evaluations, post surgery management, glaucoma, allergy eye care, diabetic eye exams, ocular injury and infections, and second opinions.

Dr. Flaherty is a member of several professional associations including the American Optometric Association and the Triad Optometric Society.

Dr. Larry Jenkins is a medical ophthalmologist at the Temas Eye Center. He is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee and has been in practice in Albemarle, North Carolina since 1972.  Dr. Jenkins attended medical school at the University of Tennessee, and did his residency at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Jenkins specifically sees general medical ophthalmology cases including routine and diabetic eye exams, cataract evaluations, post-operative care, glaucoma care, eye injuries and second opinions.
